Assignment: Research and report on an area of personal interest relevant to the professional practice of digital Illustration. Write a 2-4 page paper on the subject and present your research findings to your peers in the class.
Possible Topics: Digital Illustration Careers, Prominent Contemporary Digital Artists and their Work, History of Digital Illustration, Successful Freelancing, Marketing Your Work, Copyright Questions, Copyright Infringement Cases, Ethical Concerns or Spiritual Issues in Digital Art, etc.
Procedure: Choose one or two topics above to narrow the focus of your research. Notify professor of your topic(s) by May 15. Formulate one or more key questions most relevant to your interest in the topic(s) you have chosen. Conduct research using books, databases, articles and interviews. Take notes. Compile your findings, observations and conclusions in a clear and organized way. Write and submit a 2-4 page paper on the subject by May 29th. Using visuals to help communicate your ideas, prepare and present what you have learned to the class on June 5th.
