Natalie Soper Song Sketches

I am doing this bad boy in ink, scanning it in, then coloring it digitally. It is sort of a compilation of the past two years of my life in one giant pile, leaking water and glitter which is flooding the surrounding area and mounds. The second sketch has a few thumbnails exploring compositions..

Bronson Call song sketches

Here are two sketches for "Farewell" by Apocalyptica. I'm still deciding on the composition. I really want to paint a cello but I think it might be a bit obvious for a song illustration. What do you think?

Kaitlin Baer--song sketch

Here is my initial sketch for "Lighting Candles" by The Weepies. Still kind of rough right now.  Any ideas would be appreciated!

Samantha Long Song Sketches

The song I'm using is the Adagio from Bach's Brandenburgische Konzerto. I just decided to dive right in the paint, so here it is. I'm experimenting with more atmospheric effects, trying to use more soft edges than I'm used to. Basically it's a main lit figure followed by two dark hooded masses. As far as the background goes, I'm not really sure what I want to do with it yet. I may suggest a stone wall with overhanging trees or something; we'll see. I plan to tighten things up a bit, play with more lost-and-found's, and bring out my hooded's from the background slightly. Looking at it again, I'm sure about my composition. Does it need more space on the left and right? On the bottom? Does it get too dark overall?

FYI, here's my main reference I'm working from. I also have some for my cloak shapes. I may collect more for my wall and trees.

Music Illustration Sketch: "Futile Devices" by Sufjan Stevens

OK so this is the pencil sketch.

Here's the digital work in progress so far.  The girl ghost figure isn't at ful opacity so there's still a clear idea of what the figure is actually doing.  Once everything's all done, it will be at full opacity.

Here's another updated version.  Still not anywhere close to being done, but the thing he's wearing is closer.  There are going to be more patterns.  What do you think of this latest update?

Here's a link to the song.  The song itself is very short, but if you listen to the whole album, it actually does a remarkable job of introducing the listener to everything else that will happen throughout the rest of the album.

If you want to get a better idea of what it's all about, give the rest of the songs a partial listen.  It gets weird.  EDIT: Sorry I didn't mention before that there's some cussing in the song "I Want to be Well." Sorry if anyone listened to that and was offended.

Alaina Hendricks Song Sketches: "Cactus Tree"

So this is pretty much just a comp with some values. I'm not COMPLETELY sold on anything, but I am pretty excited about its direction. I don't usually compose pieces like this, so I would love feedback on anything.
And I slapped down a super quick color overlay (DEFINITELY not sold on these, but it's worth getting opinions I think) below!

Lots of room for change, so be brutal. ;)

Abby Grigg: Song Sketches "King and Lionheart"

I feel like I have a solid idea to aim for, but I still have a lot to figure out in terms of style, environment, and details. Tippers would be great, THANKS!
